Four SWT Reserves lie within our area:

Balachuan Hazelwood, Seil. A pure Atlantic hazelwood, rich in lichens and bryophytes. Overlooking Cuan Sound, where otters are often seen.

Knapdale, near Lochgilphead. Home of the Scottish Beaver Trial

Rahoy Hills, Morvern. A diverse range of habitats from windswept grasslands, mires and heaths to cliffs, lochans and oak woodlands.

Shian Wood, near Benderloch. A fragment of ancient semi-natural woodland overlooking Loch Creran
